My current screen setup is somewhat interesting. The screen is a ~10"
monitor out of a police car. It used to be a touchscreen, but the
touch doesn't work, so it was being sold at a local government surplus
sale for $1. Since it is designed for mobile use, it runs on 12 volt,
but that's easy to get since I have several other transformers and
power supplies in the CNC work area. The biggest perk for me is that
it is daylight viewable, which translates into the brightest LCD
monitor I have ever seen. This is good in an area with several other
bright lights (for easier work on small parts). The brightness
control is a physical slider on the side of the screen, not a digital
control. The case is a completely sealed, aluminum enclosure with
tapped holes on the sides for mounting. I used two L brackets to
secure it to the wall above the machine.
