I've looked over Reprap and Fabathome several times and while they are fasinating projects I
can't see that they would be able to produce the parts I need w/ the plasters I need to use and deliver
reasonable products. The plaster I intend to use is fast curing yet rather thin when mixed so it would
'stand up' if it was extruded out of a reprap, and I don't believe it could be laid down fast enough before
the material in the hopper would harden and be unusable. The beauty of a bed type printer system
is that the part is supported by the surrounding powder while it harden's. Both systems have their
strong points and I expect that I'll end up building a reprap/fabathome at some point.. but for my
current needs they don't suite. At least thats how I see it. If someone has experiance to the contrary
I'd love to hear of it!
