Let me know how it works out for you, I don't get a lot of feedback
from the users I sell probes to and it might help others with their
hookups
I am using a breakout board with mine that uses a pullup resistor but
I have noticed if I don't even turn on my controller, just turning on
the computer that the controller plugs into its parallel port, the
probe still registers just fine. The LED works just powered from the
floating input pin.
