I'm driving the servo amplifiers (essentially simple H-bridges) with
PWM from the m5i20 and reading the encoder counters with the m5i20.
It's not the conventional way of doing a servo-loop where there would
be a tach on the motor and a +/- 10V speed command given out from the
computer. There's no speed-loop or torque-loop or current-loop. But it
seems to work quite well. I increased the servo-thread rate to 4 kHz
and that helps to keep the following error down.

The rails are 15 mm IKO rails that we found on ebay a while back.

Yep we are in Helsinki Finland. I've been doing mostly the electronics
and emc control while my friend has a machinist background so he does
the mechanics.
