RE: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] EMC2 DC-servo controlled minimill

I'm using two for sherline spindle motors. I assumed that they would be a little coarse for servo motors judging from the comutator segments, but if they work for you guys maybe I'll give em a wirl. Whats the best motor encoder for EMC? I use 500ppr's for Mach and I have quite a few US digitals laying around. Do you guys recommend higher resolutions?Shawn

I'll second the treadmill motors. I use them on my Series 1 CNC Bridgeport. They obviously aren't as good quality as proper servo motors but they work well.
