Re: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] latching E-stop button and relay vs. momentary E-stop button and latching relay

Monte.

The typical Estop (EPO) button is a normally closed push button (switch)
that needs to be twisted to release it.

I use mine in my electrical enclosure and our breakout board. The switch
that I use has two sets of contacts. One set goes back to my breakout board.
The second set turns off power to my power supply.

In the breakout board the EPO switch connection turns off all outputs and
drops the 5 volts to the optical isolators in the Gecko drive. It also tells
Mach3 that the EPO switch has been pushed. Mach3 then drops the charge pump
(safety signal) and stops sending step and direction signals to the drives.

In my enclosure. twisting and releasing the Estop button will not restart my
power supply or have Mach start sending pulses again.

Once the emergency has been cleared, then I can release the Estop button,
click on the Mach reset button on the screen. Once Mach starts sending the
charge pump signal My breakout board turns on a relay in my power supply
board which turns on my power supply.

I hope that this sequence helps you.
