Hi all, Happy New Year!

I have a Gorton 1-22 vertical mill (a bridgeport-style mill) that I
have been running turbo CNC on for years. I have 2 NEMA42 steppers on
X and Y and a huge brushed DC servo driving the knee (not the quill),
all running Gecko Drives.

The feeds are limited to about 70ipm on X and Y with the steppers and
I was thinking about switching to servos, but wanted to do brushless.
Does anyone know of a place to get Gecko-like step and direction
drives for brushless motors?

I have looked all over, and it looks like I would be spending ~$500 an
axis minimum just on the drive.

I am considering developing my own drive, does anyone think there
would be a market for these? Brushless motors can be purchased pretty
cheaply here:

It is just the drive that does not seem to exist....
