Hi People,
I can only underscore "gcode.fi" in his comments about heavy.
The top quality machine tool that is too heavy has yet to be built.
There were giant CCCP (Soviet) built lathes that weighed twenty or thirty
tonnes. One of them, sat on it's own independent foundations of another 25
tonnes of concrete, could consistently turn out work you would cry for.
Don't ever skimp on weight and on bolting it down to more weight.
