Use a SOLID CARBIDE two-flute bit, or a wood-specific router-bit with
carbide edges! You may think wood is "softer" than metal, but even a carbide bit
will show wear and stop cutting "nicely" after many hours "in the wood" at
25,000 RPM and 2D depth, etc.! (most wood is abrasive to some degree)

Will the epoxy get gummy under the heat of machining?<<
Possibly, if not clamped tightly so it cures very thin between the glued
surfaces. Use polyurethane glue if this is a problem! ("Gorilla Glue" or
generic. FINE stuff!) Jan Rowland
