Hanermo,
The X motor runs fine at 300 but the A motor just sits there and hums. Bad motor???

I have a large nr of geckos, stepper and servo, and several other
manufacturers drives, mechatronics is one of them
I build cnc stuff, custom, and soon to be, production.
Things like a 7 axis lathe soon getting on-line .... ;)
The pfd is an adjustment on how much/little the mid-band resonance is
done. It´s not explained really well anywhere. You can easily hear if it
is poor.
Your problem with the x:
Disconnect one motor. Run motor un-connected mechanically. When it runs
well ... or does it ?
Then test the second (now your a- axis, likewise unconnected. )
Turn off slaving in mach.
Now, do the 2 motors have the same settings ? Do they run well in
jogging or mdi in mach, with rapids and feeds ie
G1 A300 F100 ?
G1 X300 F100 ?
Use high feeds, with your units in or mm, and compare to low feeds with
same g0/g1.
We can then proceed. The solution will appear shortly.
To troubleshoot, you need to isolate the problem.
Its possible, but I don´t think the pfd will be your problem.
Testing with two identical motors separately will tell you.
