Also, it would cost a lot less to get a starter motor re-wound to the voltage
and duty you are looking for than to source a DC motor directly. Obviously
this depends on the physical size of the motor, for the kind of output you
need it would be in the larger truck starter range. Any decent
starter/alternator specialist should be able to do this.
