What your ex-hacker friend is doing is writing a SHS file which Windows
processes using the OLE engine. The workaround is to:

1. Don't use Outlook, Outlook Express, Microsoft Mail, or Microsoft
Exchange.
2. Rename the wscript.exe file on you to oldwscript.exe.

And while you are at it,
3. Disable Java in your Non-Microsoft Web browser.

Or, if you want to enjoy what web pages are supposed to look like, and not
get warning messages every time you open a web page, used web-based e-mail,
and do all of your web browsing on a separate PC.

For the person with 4 Pc's who wants to share his cable-modem, Contact me
off list and I can help you find a reasonably secure solution.

Hi Bill,

This is not true, I know an ex-hacker that can write a worm that arrives
with the mail but is invisible, not an attachment. This is the difference
between a virus and a worm. It is also only detectable after it has invaded
your system, luckily there is not many people around with this level of
expertise. Microsoft can interrogate your computer via a back door that is
programmed into Windows, told you he wants to rule the world.

Regards,

Terry
