If buying a used machine, be extra cautious and thoroughly inspect the
air-bearing system. Many machines used latex tubing (like surgical tubing)
which rots out with age and moisture. It's not a deal breaker if you're
willing to spend hours threading new tubing through the tight recesses of an
unfamiliar machine (done this on two different machines, a B&S and a
Starrett). FWIW, our older Starrett has a Renishaw probe system. Not sure
what probe the B&S machine had.

Figure out whether you want/need a cabinet (climate controlled booth) for
the machine. Important for getting that last decimal place, but they can be
user unfriendly and add hours to a simple job due to lousy ergonomics.
