If you do make one, be certain that you use a quality stylus. One of the problems with many of the DIY probes is that the tips are not made of durable material, and they are not accurate enough to measure within the capability of a home made CNC machine.

The commercial stylus will have a sphericity of within .000050 inch that's 50 millionths.

Depending on your budget this pre-made probe may be easier than making your own.
