Yeah, that's the problem. I don't know if you saw the pictures, but I
don't see a simple way of adding a tensioning device on the upper belt,
which I think is more likely what is slipping (higher tension since the
following belt chain runs 1:1.33 faster).

The belts seem quite tight. But I don't have any sort of scale to
measure with.

I'm considering flipping the idler on one side to get both tensioners on
the force side of the pulleys.
