You bring up some very good points. I am building my tools and the 1st one cost $600. We are using coil rod and using comprehension washer to control back lash. My son and I are doing it in the barn and there is no regulations here in the counties here in Oklahoma. I would have a hard time finding an inspector here. Here if you want it inspected you have to hire one yourself.

My son and I are looking to learn it from all parts up. If we build it we will be able to fix it. Also if we make it we can make tools that fit our needs to make what we need. We have another set of steppers and we are going to build a chain and sprocket unit to do some larger things like solid wood doors with designs in them. We are scraping the bottom of the barrel and using Linux-cnc and other free programs.

Since we are keeping this on a cash input out of our extra money to build the units and keeping costs to the almost nothing e are not going to insure the tools at this time. If we start to make money we will do it at that time.
