I'd agree partially. But say that progress on all three is away from a
stable environment. Many of the sites we have run with XP have been
stable for many years. Having switched to W7 for political reasons then
that is no longer the case ...

Were it not for the fact that the same hardware has been running via XP
without a problem, and the third party software is still the same, the
stability problems introduced by W7 can only be W7?

With windows machines 'out of the box' means remove all the bloatware,
while the linux machines need help to get a preferred set of code rather
than the strange 'improvements' they come equipped with today.

Downloaded a rasplex image for the RaspberryPi2 and after setting the
account details and adjusting for the TV it's working ... I do
anticipate the same situation with a CNC setup sometime soon.
