Will you be using DMA I/O for the CNC control function I/O to the real world, as my searches indicate the standard Pi 2 I/O is too slow.

My son who is a programmer has a friend that works at
Microsoft which is 12 miles from where I live . He is
contacting him because it's his job to help get things
like this running. I am hoping that he will contact me and
see if he can help get Mach3 running on my rasberry pi2.
Right now I am not convinced that it will workbecause
