Rick,

Sounds like you might want to use them for "digitizing", rather then
"sucking up points" (stepping pulses?). Add a "sample" push button,
jog to the location, take a "sample" (the xyz position), and save it.
Then reconstruct the object from the coordinates obtained. Lotsa work
just to input simple dimensions, unless it's a complex surface you're
trying to copy. MAXNC has a digitizing system, might be of interest.
