Well, Bill, if you just wanted to stir the pot a little you
probably did. I'm interested in a CNC lathe, but I've got a
1336PBD Jet which I doubt is suitable for conversion. I've
thought about it, but have been busy considering all the CNC Mill
stuff. That is going to be satisfied soon, I think, but by
purchasing a used desktop machine (Dyna 2200). Unfortunately, I
have a whole list of pro-bono projects to do on the mill and
probably won't have time for the lathe thing for another year.

My ideal CNC lathe built on an old chassis would probably start
with a B&S size 0 hand screw machine. Heavy, has turret, hand
cross slide with tool posts front and back, etc. I've seen these
available for $500. OTOH a good CNC automatic lathe can go to
$60,000.

Anyway, just musing.....
