[CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] Hardware for CNC conversion

Anybody have any suggestions for the hardware that goes between the computer
and the stepper/driver motors themselves. Needs to be on the cheap or at
least almost affordable, I still have to be able to feed the children after
the purchase so one of those $1000 dollar units are out of the question. I am
planning on using the motors out of a couple of scrapped printers. They are
marked TEC stepping motors SPH-54AB-090 3 volts coil 3.5 ohm 1.8
deg/step dont have a clue if these will even work on a sherline conversion
but I am willing to try even if it means having to gear them down.
