Hi,
Model Engineer in the UK ran an article earlier this year about making such
a device. It mounted in the spindle of a miller or the tail-stock of a lathe
and could pick up a point or an edge with very high accuracy. If I can find
the magazine I'll post where a copy can be found. This is the only one I
kept back from Bill:-)
