If somone could come up with a low cost interface from the computer
to the steppers, open source with documentation. I would be all for
making it a standard. Maybe CNC programs would have the option of
printer port output or "standard CNC I/O card" to cover everyones
budget. It would take quite a bit of discussion to determine what
was really needed, but it would be worth it.
Personaly i think it should be an external card because it would be
easy to make or sell. I think internal cards are supposed to be UL
or FCC approved or something. But external boards run from wall xfmr
has no regulation. External also has more possabilites like a BUS
for the ability to add...more axes...more I/O...micro stepper
control ...and things not orignally thought of.
