Hi all,
Been reading this thread on lead comp.
High end glass scales should be able to provide good values for the comp table. Basic ruling are at 20, 10 and 5 micrometers
which with quaturature are divided by 4. That is certainly tighter any table I've ever seen. Using rolled ball screws (cheaper and
therefore can be replaced more often) with emc comp might be the way to go.
Glass scales are at least an order of magnitude more expensive than encoders but unless you have a zero backlash setup don't cure
all the problems. Probably don't cure all the problems even then but should come closer. :-)
