Joe,

If you can deal with the 440 issue (either it can be rewired for 220 or
you are willing to swap motors), you have as Pete said, a primo basis
for a CNC conversion. However, you really don't want to mess with the
existing setup for CNC unless you want to do single or maybe double tool
work. In other words, it'd be very limited. A cross slide/compound assy
for that lathe in good cond. ought to bring $300-500 on eBay.
Take your time and hunt down some linear slides, and make a decent
setup. C&H has what appears to be a VG deal on some linear rail machine
slides.

Wish I were closer, I'd sure be interested in one of those...
