You may not! It is a copyrighted document, supplied (for a
price) from the IEEE. I got mine through interlibrary loan,
from a university in Ohio, I think.

No, it is "Recognized Standard", meaning that some "body",
in this case that means an organizational body, has
recognized the standard as ready to be used.

3d CAD doesn't really apply to lathe programs. The lathe
takes a part description in 2D and converts it (due to
rotation of the part) into a volume of revolution around the
Z axis. The post-processor on many CAM programs
takes this into account, and turns a 2-D drawing in XY
into a lathe toolpath in ZX, respectively.
