Re[3]: axis naming conventions

Terry,

As you've already observed, 3D CAD/CAM programs put the origin in the
lower left corner. I wonder if your 2D's convention comes about from
the physical screen coordinates? Also, text mode line numbers follow
this convention. Cartesian coordinates for graphs have four quadrants,
so choosing the lower right hand one would give this convention also.

I like the origin in the lower left corner, with Y+ up, and X+ right, as
it matches my view of the mill table (cutter) motion as I stand in front
of it (hope I got that right!).
