Randy,
I have the same hardware, except using a surplus 12V
PC power supply. Would like to compare performance
when you get your installation finished. Stepster, DeskNC
and CNCPro (demos) all run very nicely from ticking over a
step at a time up to about 300 RPM (15 IPM) in X & Y. The Z
is similar but due to the extra load tops out at 200 RPM (10 IPM).
If you get DeskNCrt to run, please let me know what you
did. I spent hours tweeking every parameter and finally
had to admit defeat. Could get one motor to run rough in
both directions, but others would only run one way, or not
at all with the same settings. Sometimes they would run the
same direction no matter which way you joged.(?)
Good luck
Al
PS
Just got a new computer, it came with Windoz ME installed.
NO DOS. Have made boot disks from a win95 and a win98 machine.
Still most programs just won't run. DeskNCrt and CNCPro are
two that will. DeskNC won't. Of course this isn't the machine
that I will be using in the shop but would like to get DeskNC
or DeskNCrt to run (properly) on this box. The CNCPro demo
has such an obnoxious cripple that it isn't worth the effort
to use for checking out the system.
