hey Randy and Al
I also have a sherline 5410 mill. I am using sherline motor mounts,
sanyo denki 180 oz steppers, Dans 3axis 2A board, Yeager ace
converter and cncpro, and 24v 10 amp transformer with a 15,000 uF
capacitor and 400v 25 amp bridge. I have stepped up dans board from
12 volts to 24v and the motors really move. You will have to make
larger heat sinks and use a cooling fan! I have pictures of the heat
sink I made (and a few other mods) but don't know how to send them
here to the "files" area. If you would like to see them please e-mail
me. Reading off of the CNCpro screen it says my machine fast jogs at
33.5 inch per min. It can go a little faster but stalls out at the
extreme of x axis and the z axis also then has a little bit of
trouble. I am going to add spings to the z axis to help...but will
probably leave the speed where its at.
take care
taus
