Obviously! I was lucky enough to get a pair of Westwind spindle
motors from somebody who didn't know what they were worth!
They aren't that common on the surplus market. Drilling holes down
to about .025" isn't that tough, but when the drills get smaller than
that, breakage can be caused by minute vibrations or runout
in the drilling spindle. In an Excellon drilling machine, supposedly
these spindles are capable of drilling .013" holes all day long.
I have no idea what I can get from my setup on a Bridgeport, but
I HAVE drilled .018" holes in PC boards with good results, and
no broken drills.
