Dan Mauch came up with a nice design for using the US Digital linear strips.
He sent me a picture and it can be viewed at

correctly Dan was considering producing these mounts if there was enough
interest.

Yes, EMC has a module that is designed to use the output of the Kulaga/Mauch
encoder card to make a closed loop stepper system. I think it was Dan Falck
that mentioned if you set it up and don't drive any motors it acts like a
DRO.
