Doesn't the old Moore jig borer use this approach? I remember
seeing something like a cam follower and a bar next to the
leadscrews.

Well I have no links because I know of no other one that has done
this. I do
seem to recall reading about the early machine makers in the
1800's using
this technique to make leadscrews though. (Maudsley?)
