Jerry - (I didn't put "digitizer" in the subject for fear of
deletion)
I'm disappointed. I felt that the digitizer thread *was* getting
to be a bit much, and I too was beginning to quickly skim and
"delete", but the sheer volume of interest motivated me to do
something about it. I spent some of my valuable time and modeled
a practical design in 3D CAD, based much on what I had learned
from the list, and posted it to the files section. You probably
deleted any reference to it and haven't checked it out.
Coincidentally, the traffic on the topic thinned out right after
doing so, but my offer still stands to make drawings for it if
anyone is interested in actually *taking action* on this subject,
instead of just "YAKing" about it.
On the subject of what you call "signifying" posts, I feel they
have their place. Many times people will post a message that
isn't a question, such as an opinion, and a simple nod or shake is
all that is expected. I've done so before, and if no one "says"
anything, it's like speaking up in a group, and having everybody
pretend they didn't hear you. Sure, on replies to those posts,
the quoted post should be severely hacked, but not altogether.
I've seen many "signifying" posts that leave NO reference, and are
worthless.
By the way, this list has been invaluable to me, and it is a
significant time investment just to even semi-lurk. It is the one
and only newsgroup/BB/list that I have time to try and follow, but
it has been well worth it.

This gives me a chance to "signify" and say that the digitizer
topic has reached the status of "YAK" that we place on useless
info on the modeleng-list group list. I haven't seen anything in
the last five days on this subject that I would pay to download.
I know others see it differently so I use my delete key when I
see that subject line. The box thread was treated equally well,
thank you......

This gives me a chance to "signify" and say that the digitizer
topic has reached the status of "YAK" that we place on useless
info on the modeleng-list group list. I haven't seen anything in
