Microkinetics - Tim & Scott

I noticed your questions about Microkinetics and other
breakout board suppliers and must tell you my
experience. I bought a breakout board from D.Mauch,
ostensibly to hook up my Gecko drives. The instruction
sheet leaves much to be desired. The drawing cannot be
read, even with a magnifying glass. Also, I wrote an
E-Mail to Dan Mauch asking for clarification and
never
received a reply.
After screwing around with his board for a whole, long
day and not getting any movement in my motors, I threw
the Mauch board in the trash and called Microkinetics.
From their site, I could see a board that looked
straightforward, with screw connections and thought
that the whole thing appears to be less "nightmarish".
The new board will arrive today and I'm hoping to get
my mill up and running to finish some orders.
I'll let you know what happens. All I can say is that
the Mauch board and documentation leave much, much to
be desired! No E-mail reply and no phone number to
call!
