Any quick requests for DRO software?

OK folks, I'm going to be busy in the foreseeable future getting
my home shop set up, so if you have any suggestions for the DRO
software, get 'em in now. I'll try to have as much added as I can
before I get started on the house.
At the moment, I am only planning on adding two items: First, the
ability to enter a position, as opposed to merely being able to
zero an axis, and second, mirroring all the keys to the numeric
keypad so those with the desire can somehow hack out the keys they
want into a small pad, instead of having to keep the whole keyboard
near the machine. I hope this is enough to keep you all busy and
happy.
BTW, the reason I'm going to be setting up the shop is that I
finally bought a mill! A fellow list member in my area had a
Rockwell Horizontal/Vertical combo available, and it seemed so
perfect for an HSM that I just *had* to have it. I also have a
good chance at getting myself a lathe soon, I've just gotta do a
little extra legwork to make the deal come off.
Anyway, I've got a major task at hand. There's little useful
electrical wiring in the garage, there's no benches or workspace,
and the lighting is downright pathetic. I really want to get this
right the first time, and it's going to demand a lot of my time to
do that. Once I get everything squared away, I am going to need
to put the DRO software onto the mill, and that seems like a great
way to make sure I keep upgrading it and adding more useful
functions. Since the mill I bought has a power feed, you can bet
that I'll be adding a feedrate display very soon after things are
running.
Thanks to all the list members who have offered support, suggestions
and comments. I'll be doing my best to pay you all back just as
soon as the shop is ready.
