Jon and Emc'ers
Yep. I showed just such a procedure in my GUI (Graphical User Interface)
last year at NAMES but I was using a little routine to trap the last line
that was a sometimes thing. Now Will has fixed the EMC so that the current
line is saved when an estop or abort is executed. We just need a pop in
that lets you restart.
Problem is that you have to use it with some caution because
you can hop into manual, jog the tool toward you and replace the faulty
bit or tap and then hit restart and the tool will immediately go directly
to the location indicated at the start of the line. That may be a problem
if there is not a clear line from where the tool is and where the restart
line wants to put it.
Short answer yes the info is there and we can do it. Not sure I
explained that very well but it's been a long machine repair day.
Thanks

From Jon E
Matt Shaver and I were talking today, and I mentioned to him
an idea I had to improve handling of aborted programs. If the
program aborts due to a violation of the syntax or movement,
or the operator has to Escape out of it, or there is an E-stop
condition, EMC should remember the location in the program,
and give you the option of resuming at that point or from the
beginning. Matt suggested this could be done in the TkEMC
GUI. I'm not sure you have all the information at that level,
but thought I'd at least suggest it.
