I'm not proposing this as the best way, it is 'A' way which works for me.
I use CNCPRO under DOS and Win95 the rest of the time. It is also possible
to have at least half a network connection while running pure dos but
setting up a dual boot capability is the first step.

1. install DOS
2. install Win??
3. make sure Win works
4. change c:\msdos.sys attributes by removing 'read only" and 'hidden" in
properties
5. Edit msdos.sys to include [Options]
BootDelay=?? ;number of seconds
BootMenu=1
BootMulti=1
6. restore attributes.

This Should give you the option of using Old Dos 6.22 when you boot, with
a default to Win after ?? seconds.
