Teflon works best in THIN sections. It is very slippery, but
also "cold-flows" easily. A good alternative to a teflon block is
Delrin (Acetal) or even UHMW (Ultra High Molecular Weight
polyethylene). Both should be available from any industrial plastics
distributor.

The Sherline metric mill uses 10mm x 1mm vee threads on the Z axis.
So remember that it is the WHOLE machine which has to work, and don't
let a little Ballendo post keep you from trying what you have... You
may find ways to alter OTHER parts of the machine to reflect whatever
limits you are forced to accept in this part!
