Hmmm... Interesting. I have a Nikon 950 CoolPix (now superceded by their
990), and it is super in every way! Has optical AND "electronic" zoom. But
LCD, though readable in normal light (not direct sun in your face!), sucks
amperes! NiHydride cells (4) good for maybe 30 min. on-time. So, must "keep
it off" most of time. Optical viewfinder OK for "regular (non-zoom)", but
kinda useless when using zoom.
Nikon doesn't care! They make enough Yankee Dollars not to care!
