Tim: I guess that it depends on which controller software is used. With CNCPro, you can make settings for each machine. I have a
South Bend lathe and a Hardinge lathe that I have converted. The program allows multiple setups and they are different for both of
my machines. The crossfeed on the SB uses a 4to1 belt drive while the Hardinge is direct drive. When I use the Hardinge I use the
setup that I titled "hardinge". No pain no strain. Just connect the stepper drives to the machine and "tell" cncpro which machine is
being used and go for it. Carey
