Dan Mauch's toolpost grinder pictures

Dan –

I’m putting together a toolpost grinder like the one you had posted to the
RCM dropbox, but when I went back to take another peek, the pictures were
not there. Can you post them to the files section?

A couple of questions:

1) I’m trying to figure out how to shield the bearings from the abrasive
dust. Did you have to do anything special?
2) I think you had mentioned using double-row deep groove bearings (is
that right?); did these have shields or seals?
3) Why did you use double row bearings and not just single deep groove
or angular contact?
4) Did you preload the bearings against each other?

I’m planning to modify the design for higher speeds (for ID grinding), so
seals may be a problem.
