Sumarians (sp) actually. They lived a few miles/kilometers away from
ancient "imperial" Babylon and preceded these folk by a few hundred years.
Base 60 appeared full blown, applied to time and circular motions without
any apparent precursor or "lab notes." And as far as I can tell, it was
accepted like it was a pronouncement from the gods. Interesting study
stuff for the history of math.

If we fix this, we'd have to change all the digital microwave timers. But
these things don't have it quite right anyway. In base 60 there is no 74.
