A pair of DPDT switches! One for each of two "phases" (windings), which are
wired to reverse the DC polarity to each winding in alternate order.

Then you are challenged! Suggest you get Don Lancaster's book, "The CMOS
Cookbook" (I leave you with a link to his site, which lists the stuff he has
available, including his books; he is a sage!). That ONE book has more
useful, practical, correct, understandable stuff in it than all the other
"electrical engineering" books ever printed!
