some 4 years ago the Silicon Chip magazine run an article on a program called rboprject or
some thing like that, the software used to run a 5 stepper robot that used to have the boards
that were featured on the same magazine (if I remember correctly January 94) the software
was shareware ,I still got the disk somewhere, and it was written in Qbasic ,also I believe
that the source code was included, if you are interested I could try to email it to you
