I had another look at the article last night. It is by "George Turner" and
appeared in the July 1996 issue. I see someone else has already posted the
URL to the publisher's website. I find this magazine to be a welcome
alternative to Model Engineer.
Apparently there are two types of mill/drills with round colums. The one
type like the RF30, has a column that is fixed to the base. The head moves
up and down along the column. The other type has a column that is fixed to
the head and the whole head and column moves up and down through the base.
The NAEROK and REXON machines are examples of this latter type. The
mentioned article is for the type where the head moves. Apparently the same
author published another article in "another magazine" for the other type of
machines (could this be Model Engineer?).
