Bridgett is alive!

Even though I promised my wife I would get some other projects completed
around the house before I started working on Bridgett the Series II
Bridgeport I couldn't resist. So, I hooked up my 5 amp Camtronics controller
to the Y axis motor. The controller is running on a 24 V power supply and
the current is set for about 3.5 amps. I connected the motor as a 1/2 coil
bipolar. Didn't hook the controller to a computer, just used the built in
step generator. Got the Y axis to rapid at about 30 ipm reliably! I was
surprised it moved that well. Makes me wonder if I go to the full 36 V the
controller can handle and max the amperage out what it will do?

Now to just sneak in the time to connect the X and the Z, hook it to a
computer and see what it looks like making some real machining type moves.
Add a phase converter and I should be able to start making some chips!
