OK, I didn't get the bit about the $12K WITH control. Yes, for $12K, it
is certainly no longer in the hobby class! I thought the $3750 was as
shown, with control, although I couldn't figure out how they could do it
at that price. (Prison labor, maybe?)

Well, for low cost, machines are still made with steppers. But, at the higher
end, generally servos are used.

Right, mm/rev is not much use, and 2000mm/rev would be a VERY coarse
screw, anyway.
