I have not seen it appear in our shop as a persistant problem. We see a few
gateways & dells not aa problem with Win 98 but Gway & Dell sample size is
too small and we would only see them after warranty.

USB has been 99+ percent trouble free for SOYO and ASUS motherboards for us.

It seems if you make major changes to a Win9X system it is better to just
reload the OS from scratch. Some industry reports suggest that Win9x should
be loaded from scratch atleast twice a year and after any major upgrades or
equipment removals.

I know my system at work has been slowing down for the last two months and
is probably ready to be reloaded when I get the time.

Not a problem as we have Novell servers for all data. nothing but programs
and daily temp storage on workstations.
