Re: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] RF-31

Hi Peter,

Here's the posting, under mill_drill files, mill stand, RF31MILL. I
believe others on this list or that have made mounts for the RF-45 and
RF-31 mills, I don't think it's too big a problem.

Sorry for the big file!

Someone surly will be willing to make the mounts. But if you have a
mill, it would be a reasonable project to make them! Of course, I
haven't tried it yet for this size a mill! I invasion a rectangular
plate of aluminum perhaps 0.5" thick, and wide enough for the #34
mounts. I intend to use 3:1 pulleys, and hang the motor on the other
side of the plate to the pulleys. I haven't looked at it them, but if
one keeps the acme lead screw (for a while, anyway), then the same
bearing setup would be done on the motor mounting plate. The resulting
.625" (?) shaft from the lead screw will protrude far enough for a
pulley. The stock pulleys will have to be bored and reamed to fit on
the lead screw, an stepper motor shafts. Better to get ballscrews right
away, but as mentioned, I might try with the Acme lead screws first. A
new ball screw will also require a mounting for the ball screw nut.

Perhaps someone has plans for these mounts already!

Hope this answered some of your questions.
