Hi Don,
Thanks for the reply. I'm assuming the roughers
are a different beast than regular cutters.
Right now I cutting pretty light 470 rpm (1/2')
and <= 0.04" in 1020 or 8620. I need to push the
envelope some as I'm taking too many cuts.
Finally emc is at least working and not going
wild. I am getting an occasional freeze which I
attribute to only using 32 M of memory. BTW-I'm
still having it freeze sometime soon after using
any editor, e.g. vi, emacs, genedit.

My usual rule of thumb is to cut at about 60 sfm
without coolant and 100-120 with coolant but
roughers make different kinds of chips and should
be more efficient.
Any ideas and help would be appreciated.
